I don't think it would work well if it could. I believe Minecraft dropped support for Java 1.5 and lower so I think Mac OS 10.5 is the last one supported.

Sorry for bringing up old thread but I have noticed the same problem, couple of months now (a month definitely, I have a bad sense of time) the download speed for me has dropped significantly, from 1.5mb/s to 50- ~300kb/s, when it started it helped sometimes canceling download and starting it again from the other mirror, but now maximum is 300-380kb/s and can be as low as 50kb/s 2) Edit [enblocal.ini], rewrite the following contents. In an attempt to fix the problem I uninstalled the game and redownloaded it. Sadly the download speed is still slow and its absolutely infuriating. I doubt that it is my internet speed as I normally download games at around 10 mb/s (while LoL is sitting at around 25-150 kb/s). Is your download actually slow? When you download, get the download url and traceroute that, again is seems to be a issue relating to your pc / isp as you note all other part of the site work pefectly, so i dont see it being an issue with our servers, we just had a massive amount of downloads and whilst the servers worked fine, the mirrors and downloads did struggle, but no reports of slow speeds like you are mentioning so For files that I down load and bring in manually that works but doesn't count as a download so the tutorial still cannot get past that point. Any suggestions I'd prefer to get to use Mod organizer if I can! I realised that Chrome has been downloading files at an extremely slow speed. When I download games from Steam, I get around 30 MB/s , but when downloading simple drivers from Chrome, the speed drops all the way to 40 KB/s . Why is this so?? From 30 megabytes per second, to 40 kilobytes per second?? Why does it drop so low and how can i fix this??
